Terminator Genisys Autographs – Build Your Own Set

Terminator Genisys is the first film in the series to not have trading cards since the original movie back in 1984. And given what 2009 Topps Terminator: Salvation delivered, that might be okay. But while there are some Terminator autograph cards already, this does leave a bit of a hole.

However, for those looking to collect autographs of the Genisys‘ stars, many of the leads already have cards.

Leading that list is Ah-nuld himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has a trio of signed cards to choose from including 2003 Comic Images Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. The cards, which is only in hobby packs, is limited to 300 copies.

This wasn’t the action legend’s first signed card, though. The movie might be in the so-bad-it’s-good department, but the 1997 Fleer/SkyBox Batman and Robin Widevision Autographs list is one of the best ever. The former California governor is one of them, signing as Mr. Freeze.

Copies of that card were later used to make a cut signature card by Rittenhouse Archives for their 2009 Conan Movies Autograph Expansion factory set. Those who ordered ten of the limited edition sets got an Arnold Schwarzenegger cut autograph with the signature from the old card embedded into the new one.

Taking over the role of Sarah Connor for Terminator Genisys is Emilia Clarke, best known for playing the Mother of Dragons on TV’s Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen. Through four seasons worth of sets for the show from Rittenhouse, Clarke has autographs in only the first two.

Jai Courtney isn’t a household name, but he’s getting some plum roles — even if some of those films don’t turn out to be very good. A Good Day to Die Hard, Jack Reacher and I, Frankenstein are some of the box office disappointments Courtney has appeared in. But before all those, he was on TV’s Spartacus: War of the Damned. With that came a signed card in Rittenhouse’s 2011 Spartacus set.

Fresh off an Oscar for Whiplash, J.K. Simmons joins the Terminator franchise in Genisys. He has a couple of signed cards in 2007 Rittenhouse Spider-Man 3 for his role as J. Jonah Jameson. The first is a basic signature card that’s included in packs. An autographed costume card was available only as a two-case incentive.

Dayo Okeniyi is the final Terminator Genisys cast member (at least out of those with a significant amount of screen time). And it’s probably one of the toughest to find. The card comes from special packs of 2012 NECA Hunger Games cards. Available only at midnight DVD release parties, these cards were rare to begin with. Add to the fact that many of them likely went directly into the hands of Hunger Games fans as opposed to card collectors and you can see why they’re so rare. The card looks like a base card but it’s numbered A5 on the back to help distinguish it.
