Once there was a time when Topps wasn’t only in the business of trading cards but comics and magazines as well. This being the early 1990s, comics were the perfect platform to advertise upcoming releases and add a little extra to compete with hologram covers and other industry gimmicks. 1992 Topps Bram Stocker’s Dracula Comic Book promo cards achieve all these things.

The 16-card set was spread over the four issues of the Topps comic adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which starred Keanu Reeves, Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins. Each issue had four different cards and were inserted in chronological order. So issue 1 had #1-4, issue 2 had #5-8 and so forth.

While there are cards that have stills from the film, most feature artwork. Among the artists is Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy.

Topps also released a full set for the film, which is actually quite tough to find given the era in which it was made.
