Nearly five years after the ladies got their lenticular shot, the rest of the franchise got a shot with 2008 Rittenhouse James Bond In Motion trading cards.
As the name suggests, base cards take advantage of lenticular technology to show short burst of action. The set has 63 in total. Because of the different spin, there’s not much else to the main set, but that’s okay. And in case your experiences with lenticular cards came in the 1980s when “motion” was limited to a shift between two images, it’s different and better. Although a little murky, the advances are astounding.
2008 Rittenhouse James Bond In Motion Autographs and Other Inserts
Autographs are inserted two per box and feature the 40th Anniversary, Women of James Bond and Full-Bleed designs. Denise Richards, Joe Don Baker, Robert Carlyle and Honor Blackman are among the highlights. There’s even legendary Las Vegas showman Wayne Newton. Roger Moore was available as a six-case incentive.
Costume and relic cards are also inserted two per box. Costume cards are from Casino Royale and include a mix of single-, dual-, triple- and quad-swatch combinations. Relic cards are smaller in number and include pieces from Casino Royale and Die Another Day.
James Bond Lenticular inserts offer more movement. Each of the actors who took on the iconic role are featured on a card.
Other basic inserts expand from previous releases. These include Bond Allies, Bond Villains and Bond Girls Are Forever.
A total of 9,000 boxes of 2008 Rittenhouse James Bond In Motion trading cards were produced.
