1993 Topps Jurassic Park Gold trading cards can be seen as a response to a changing hobby where premium elements were becoming more popular. And by 1993 standards, a hint of gold foil was enough to making something premium.
For the most part, the checklist recreates the original Jurassic Park Series 1 set. The only significant difference in the 88-card base set is the fact that the logo on the front was done in gold foil. While it can be viewed as an upgrade, it really is insignificant today.
The same four holograms as the previous releases are also available.
The only entirely new cards in 1993 Topps Jurassic Park Gold are ten Art cards that use images from the Topps-produced comics. Art cards replace stickers as the one-per-pack insert.
