1999 Inkworks Planet of the Apes Archives Autographs Gallery and Guide

A lot of history surrounds the Planet of the Apes franchise. While the reboots/prequels have reinvigorated things with a new look and feel, the five original films still hold up to varying degrees. 1999 Inkworks Planet of the Apes Archives was the first set to cover all five of these movies. 1999 Inkworks Planet of the Apes Archives Autographs are also the first signed cards for the franchise.

Just five cards make up the set. Topping the checklist is Linda Harrison who played Nova in Planet of the Apes and its follow-up, Beneath the Planet of the Apes. Natalie Trundy played three different roles in the four sequels. She’s pictured as the ape, Lisa.

Noticeably absent from the 1999 Inkworks Planet of the Apes Autographs are two of the franchise’s biggest names, Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall. McDowall passed away in 1998. Heston did go on to sign for the 2001 Topps Planet of the Apes set that was based on the Tim Burton remake.

Inkworks never released odds for autographs in this set. They are not guaranteed in every box.

Supply has largely dried up. While they do pop up regularly, there’s never any major supply.
