1995 Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series 3 was the final set for the art-based brand for more than a decade. While the basic premise, look and feel didn’t change, the growing number of inserts reflect evolving hobby demands at the time.
1995 Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series 3 Checklist Details
The base set has 90 cards, which is down significantly from Series 1 and Series 2. The artwork used comes from a variety of artists and sources including 12-card subset at the start of the checklist dedicated to poster legend Drew Struzan. Novel covers, comic books and other promotional materials make up a big chunk of the rest of the set.
For the first time in a Star Wars Galaxy release, packs included a base set parallel. 1st Day Production cards are noted with a small gold foil stamp on the front. Inserted one per pack, they’re not overly valuable as putting together a set wasn’t that difficult. Numbering starts at #276, connecting it to the larger line.
Another basic insert set is dedicated to the LucasArts video games. There are 12 different cards in this insert set. Also landing one per pack, they’re quite common.
Like the first two sets, there’s a six-card Etched Foil puzzle. Clearzone is a new addition to the brand. Done on clear card stock, bounty hunters are highlighted on each of the set’s six cards.
