The 2002 Topps Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Widevision autographs are some of the earliest in the franchise’s history. As hard as is may seem today, Star Wars autographs were still rare when it came to trading cards mid-way through the prequels.

Presented in the brand’s over-sized format, the checklist is notable for its depth. It also has some notable signers that haven’t signed since.

A total of 24 cards are available in packs. Inserted 1:24 2002 Topps Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Widevision packs, many 36-pack boxes have a pair of signed cards.

A Wizard Named Oz

The top signer is easily Frank Oz who played Yoda. Outside of Star Wars, Oz is also known as one of the key Muppet performers, bringing the likes of Miss. Piggy, Fozzie Bear and plenty more to life.

At the time of the set’s release, Joel Edgerton wasn’t a big name. However, thanks to his respected work on the screen, his profile continues to grow. He’s still not A-list material yet, but this could prove to be Edgerton’s only autograph card.

Let’s talk Jar Jar Binks. Although he’s reviled by most, Jar Jar is still one of the most talked about Star Wars characters of all-time. The fact that this is the only autograph card Ahmed Best has signed is important.

Outside of the 24 2002 Topps Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Widevision Autographs available in packs, two more came out later. Anthony Phelman (Lama Su) and Jack Thompson (Clieg Lars) were included as case topps in 2004 Topps Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
