Roswell arrived on TV with lots of potential. It failed to truly catch on and make a lasting impression but it still has a set of trading cards. 2000 Inkworks Roswell Season 1 highlights the show’s first batch of episodes. It also has a solid autograph lineup — which was a whole lot stronger back when the cards came out.
2000 Inkworks Roswell Season 1 Checklist Details
The majority of the 90-card base set breaks down 21 first-season episodes with a specific formula. Each show has two recap cards followed one that looks behind the scenes. Other subsets include character cards, relationship-focused Close Encounters and Local Phenomena, which highlights the show’s key locations.
Autographs are the top inserts. However, they came a little before Inkworks started including them on a per-box basis. At 1:108 packs, they land every third box. The flipside of the tougher odds is a checklist that is limited to key actors from the show or names notable for their outside work. Signers include Shiri Appleby, Colin Hanks and Julie Benz. Katherine Heigl, who went on to gain fame on Grey’s Anatomy did not sign for the product.
Alien Orb is another tough insert in 2000 Inkworks Roswell Season 1. Inserted 1:72 packs, the set has two die-cut cards featuring symbols from the show.
Aliens Among Us makes up the nine-card foil puzzle. Six Not of This World cards round out the inserts available in packs.
Season 2 trading cards were likely in the works but never got released. Each Season 1 box does have a promo card for it, though.
