After a couple of sets with Comic Images, 2006 Artbox 24 Season 4 trading cards see a different card maker give the action show a try. And with it, Artbox brought a similar format as their Harry Potter trading cards complete with a mix of autographs, costume and prop cards.
The 90-card base set shifts from a minimalist design that Comic Images used to something a little more traditional. Images still make up most of the front, but a thematic spot for a caption has been added. The checklist starts with an extended look at the cast before shifting into an hour-by-hour recap of the season’s episodes.
With 13 cards, the autograph checklist is much bigger than the previous two sets. While there’s still no Kiefer Sutherland, many key cast are. They include Carlos Bernard, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Gregory Itzin and Aisha Tyler.
Costume cards cover the major characters. Like autographs, they land one per box. All come serial numbered with quantities varying from a high of 500 cards to a low of 125. Case incentives come in even smaller numbers.
Prop cards have small pieces of items from the show’s set. They’re similar to the costume cards in their design, style and numbering. However, with less of them overall, they’re tougher to find at 1:120 packs.
Basic inserts are a mix of foil and foil puzzle cards.
A total of 250 cases of 2006 Artbox 24 Season 4 trading cards were produced. Each has 12 boxes.
Artbox produced a Season 4 Expansion set in 2007.
