Going out with a whimper and not a bang comes 2006 Inkworks Alias Season 4 trading cards. While it sticks with a formula that worked in the past, an extremely weak autograph lineup and an increasingly worn-out storyline make for a product that hasn’t aged well. Boxes may deliver an autograph and a costume card, but there’s not a lot to them.
The 81-card base set fits perfectly with the previous three seasonal releases. It has the foil card stock and plenty on the episodes they’re based on. Secrets, sisters and tech make up the majority of the subsets.
2006 Inkworks Alias Season 4 Autographs
2006 Inkworks Alias Season 4 has ten autographs. Among them is the first and only dual autograph for the show. Unfortunately it doesn’t pair up Jennifer Garner with another one of her lead stars. Rather, it’s Ron Rifkin and Joel Grey, two men who may or may not be Arvin Sloane. Grey also has his own autograph in the set. And while he may have an Oscar, Tony and Emmy award on his mantle, he’s not a big name in the hobby.
Other autographs in the set include Gina Torres (the lone redemption), Michael McKean and Izabella Scorupco, a Bond girl in GoldenEye. Outside of the dual autograph, all can be found for $20 or less.
Additional Inserts
Ten Pieceworks cards all have small swatches of costumes used in the show. As always, Inkworks shows a picture of the costume in use on the front of the card. PW2, a card with a piece of shirt worn by Jennifer Garner, has three different versions. The basic one is the one found in packs. Dealers who ordered three cases of 2006 Inkworks Alias Season 4 got a dual-swatch version. Those who bought eight cases received one with a piece of the embroidered vest that went with the shirt.
The set’s other inserts include Predictions, the customary nine-card puzzle, and Regrets, a six-card set. There are also three box loaders and a case topper.
