2003 Inkworks Buffy the Vampire Slayer Connections trading cards delve into the various relationships shared by characters on the show. It’s a departure from the style and configuration of Inkworks’ other Buffy sets, opting for a more premium approach.
The base set has 72 cards. It’s chunked up into sections focusing on a single character and how they connect with others, good and bad. They’re printed on thick holographic foil stock to give everything a premium feel.
The base set has a Platinum parallel version. Not only do these have a different finish on the front, but the card numbers have a ‘BC’ prefix on the back.
2003 Inkworks Buffy the Vampire Slayer Connections doesn’t have any autographs. The main hits come in the form of Pieceworks costume cards. Inserted one per box, each has pieces from a pair of characters worn on the show. The checklist has only three cards but each of those has four variations. So you could get away with a set of three cards but a master set has 12.
This is where the uniqueness of the release comes to an end. The set’s other two inserts are Inkworks 101. First there’s Slayer’s Circle that’s their standard nine-card foil puzzle. Heartbreaks is a six-card embossed foil set that looks at some of the many doomed relationships from the series.
