It wasn’t until the 2000 Inkworks Simpsons 10th Anniversary Autographs that collectors could chase certified autograph cards from the classic animated show. It had gone through the peak of the Junk Wax Era with just a couple of sets. And while SkyBox managed to snag creator Matt Groening for sketch cards in one of their sets, it wasn’t until more than a decade after the show’s debut that signed cards were a thing.

Inkworks never released odds on pulling an autograph from packs. They’re definitely not a box guarantee.

A few more autographs were released in 2001 with the follow-up set Simpsons Mania. While most are repeat signers, these have a different design.

Each of the 2000 Inkworks Simpsons 10th Anniversary Autographs pairs the signers with the characters they’re best known for. For Cartwright, Castellaneta and Shearer, that means multiple characters on the front as they are responsible for bringing them all to life.

These autographs have seen a steady increase in prices over the years. For starters, they’re not that easy to find anymore. If you look online, you’re likely to find one or two copies at a time. The longevity of the show means that there’s a generation of fans who are older now and might be more inclined to spend more on these cards than when they were younger. Plus, it’s The Simpsons, one of the most popular shows of all-time. The signers represent television history.
