2010 Breygent Dexter Season 3 trading cards go deep when it comes to the fancy stuff like autographs, costume and prop cards. And the set doesn’t go skimpy either, with a lot of cards offering more than the usual fare. However, there’s something lurking on some of the top cards that might be something of a turnoff for many.
The 72-card base set is standard stuff, recapping all 12 of the season’s episodes. In it, there’s baby talk, more murders, curious relationship dynamics and plenty of Jimmy Smits.
Autographs, Memorabilia Cards and Other Inserts
Costume cards are the primary box hit with two coming in every box. Not only is the checklist big (29 are available in packs), but the vast majority of cards come with a pair of swatches from different costumes. A couple have more.
Autographs combine to land every other box. Michal C. Hall is featured on a single-signed card that features photo-realistic artwork from David Desbois. Smits and James Remar are highlighted on different designs.
Hall is paired with a couple of key stars from the season, Smits and Julie Benz, for a pair of dual autographs.
The deepest of the signature checklists comes with the autographed costume cards. Six characters are represented here, all key cast including Hall, Benz and Jennifer Carpenter.
And while the 2010 Breygent Dexter Season 3 autographs checklist is strong when it comes to covering the show’s top stars, there is a major problem with a lot of the actual cards. In many instances, the ink didn’t stick to the cards properly, leading to a beading sort of effect. Some are worse than others, but it’s worth checking out if you’re looking to buy any.
Prop cards are also part of the checklist. Inserted 1:60 packs, these use various set pieces and items used on the show. Due to their nature, many of the pieces look unique.
2010 Breygent Dexter Season 3 has three regular insert sets as well. Dexter Quotes has ten cards while Dexter’s Victims and Puzzle each have nine. All three of these use foil.
Sketch cards return as a case hit. Artists include Tim Shay, Steven Miller and Len Bellinger.
