How many Stargate trading cards do you need? That’s the question begged by 2005 Rittenhouse Stargate SG-1 Season 7. Despite the long line of sets that came before it, Rittenhouse managed to offer both continuity and some freshness with the set.
The design of the 72-card base set sticks with the same general look used for the past few sets. The only noticeable difference is the purple tints used on the front. Each episode is covered on three cards. There’s also a three-card puzzle that acts as a title card at the front and a trio of checklists at the end.
The autograph checklist is solid, featuring a couple key cast members including Christopher Judge (Teal’C) and Don S. Davis (General Hammond). This was Davis’ last autograph card prior to his death in 2008. Other signers in the set include Michael Shanks and one-time Ziploc pitchman Dom DeLuise. Judge and Robert Picardo are the rarest of the pack-inserted autographs with 200-300 copies. All others are considered limited by Rittenhouse and have 300 to 500 copies.
2005 Rittenhouse Stargate SG-1 Season 7 introduced the first prop cards for the franchise. Relics and Costume cards combine to land one per box. All of the prop cards come serial numbered as well.
The character-focused In the Line of Duty inserts carry over from Season 6. Nine Dr. Jackson cards are inserted two per North American box. International boxes focus on Teal’C with the same insert rates.
Inserted 1:200 packs, SG-1 Team cards are among the toughest in the product. Each of the four cards comes numbered to 600 copies.
Other inserts in 2005 Rittenhouse Stargate SG-1 Season 7 include the two-card die-cut Dr. Fraiser Tribute, Stargate Casting Call and Behind the Scenes with Terry Rothery.
