It’s likely that Inkworks rolled the dice on Veronica Mars hoping that it might be the second coming of Buffy. That didn’t happen but the two sets the card maker did for the show are still very strong. The 2006 Inkworks Veronica Mars Season 1 Autographs checklist features much of the lead cast as well as many guest stars notable for their work outside the show. And with such a young cast, some of those have gone on to much bigger things in the years since.
Leading the set is Miss. Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell. From the time of the set’s release, this was a card that easily topped the $100 mark (and sometimes significantly higher). Smart, funny and pretty, Bell was a huge reason Veronica Mars lasted three seasons (and then a movie).
Unfortunately for those looking to land the Veronica Mars Season 1 Kristen Bell autograph, the secondary market is the only option. It’s the only card in the set that was inserted as a redemption. Not only is it long expired but Inkworks doesn’t even exist anymore.
Additional Signers
Outside of Bell, Amanda Seyfried is regarded by most as the second most coveted card in the set. Although she played a central role in the show’s first season, Seyfried was still largely unknown when the show aired and the cards came out. However, within a couple of years, her star started to rise in Hollywood, bolstered by the smash success of Mamma Mia! where she starred alongside Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and others. As her popularity rose, so too did the interest in her card.
As far as lead stars in the show go, both Teddy Dunn and Jason Dohring, the actors who filled out the show’s love triangle, are both prominent signers. Dohring has some that are inscribed, “Love.” There’s also Francis Capra who was a regular secondary character.
The set also has signatures from Anthony Anderson and The New Girl‘s Max Greenfield.
