Xena: Warrior Princess trading cards would go on to last longer than the show itself. However, it wasn’t always with the same manufacturer. 1999 Topps Xena: Warrior Princess Series 3 marks the last time the New York-based company would make a set for the program. And while it’s a relatively simple release, it’s one that stands out still today for being attractive.
The base set has 72 cards and revolves largely around the third season. Besides recaps, there are several subsets that dig a little deeper into themes and major events in the show.
Just two insert sets are part of 1999 Topps Xena: Warrior Princess Series 3. And neither of them are autographs like those found in Series 2. Although the inserts here might not have major high-end appeal, they are nonetheless attractive.
Incarnations has nine cards. These are done with ClearChrome, making the backgrounds somewhat opaque. Two Destiny Bound inserts use double-sided chromium.
Following 1999 Topps Xena: Warrior Princess Series 3, the license would shift to Rittenhouse Archives. They released several products over the years with a more premium focus.
