Overview: 2005-2006 Exquisite Collection Basketball
The mother of all high-end basketball sets returns with Upper Deck's 2005-2006 Exquisite Collection Basketball. But do we really care?
It's chalk full once again with all sorts of combinations of autographs, jersey cards, patches, rookies, low serial numbers and a super-high price tag that will surely gobble up a good few months' worth of allowance (or for us adults, a couple weeks on the couch or in the basement).
When it debuted a couple years ago, Exquisite set the bar for high end. If I remember correctly, the original going rate was $500 per pack/box. But that was Lebron's rookie year. And Carmelo Anthony's. And Dwayne Wade. This year we have Chris Paul and a bunch of other mid-impact guys.
With the bar set already, there's really not too much 'exciting' in here given its lofty price tag. Sure, there's lots of great stuff to be had, but it can also be had elsewhere by those who have the budget to bust this stuff.
