The Return of the 5-cent Pack

This years marks the 50th aniiversary of Topps producing football cards. To celebrate, the company is producing a special Turn Back the Clock set in which packs will only cost a nickel, the price of a pack back in 1956. Of course, there's a small catch, but it's still a heck of an idea.

Story continues below.

On September 10th and 11th, collectors who visit participating hobby shops will have a chance to buy the first five cards in the 22-card set. All they have to do is buy a pack of of any 2005 Topps football product.

The remaining 17 cards will be released one per week and given out in the same process - by visiting local shops and buying one pack of 2005 Topps football products.

The first five cards in the Turn Back the Clock set are:
1 of 22 Joe Namath / New York Jets
2 of 22 Joe Montana / San Francisco 49ers
3 of 22 John Elway / Denver Broncos
4 of 22 Brett Favre / Green Bay Packers
5 of 22 Peyton Manning / Indianapolis Colts
