Overview: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Memories
There've been more than a few Buffy sets over the years. Yet Inkworks seems to continue to find ways to uncover the license without "milking" it beyond its relevance. Case in point, Buffy: Memories. It's been years since the show went off the air, but there's a new angle to take. It's a greatest hits sort of set where all the big moments of the show are gathered into one set.
For chase collectors, the costume cards and Inkplates are likely to be the highlights. Each box promises two costume cards. Inkplates borrow from the sports card trend of inserting printing plates into packs. Each card in the 90-card base set has four different colour variations making 360 printing plates available.
Here's the breakdown:
* PIECEWORKS CARDS - Sixteen different cards. Each features a piece of an actual costume worn on-screen during Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Pants worn by Buffy, Sweater worn by Buffy (Dual Swatch Card), Jacket worn by Buffy, Dress worn by Anya (Dual Swatch Card), Shirt worn by Giles, Pajama top worn by Dawn, Top worn by Willow, Bloody Sweater worn by Tara, Suit pants worn by Principal Wood, Jeans worn by Xander, Pajama top worn by Kennedy, Pajama pants worn by Molly, T-shirt worn by Vi, Tunic worn by Shadow Man, Overalls worn by Rona, Jacket worn by Andrew. (16 cards - inserted approximately 2:36 packs).
* INKPLATES™ CARDS - First Time Ever Inserted - When printing the Buffy: Memories set, four metal press plates are created, one for each color in the 4-color process (yellow, magenta, cyan and black). Each plate is cut down, creating a one-of-a-kind InkPlates card to collect. Each card will be individually numbered with the card number and color plate indicated. Only 360 cards will be available and randomly inserted!
* "REINFORCEMENTS" - It was the support of Buffy's friends and family that made her the ultimate slayer. This 9-card puzzle features her reinforcements. (9 cards - inserted approximately 1:11 packs).
* "APOCALYPSES" - Buffy and her friends saved the world…again and again… Their efforts are commemorated in six special foil-stamped cards. (6 cards - inserted approximately 1:17 packs).
* BOX LOADER CARDS - Three cards - "THREE SLAYERS" featuring Buffy, Faith and Kendra. (3 different cards - 1 per display box).
* CASE LOADER CARD - One card - "LEGACY" (1 card - 1 per case).
* RETAILER INCENTIVE CARDS - "THE POTENTIAL SLAYERS" - Two unique, limited PUZZLE PIECEWORKS® CARDS. DUAL COSTUME PW-17A: Costumes worn by "Potentials" Molly (Clara Bryant) and Kennedy (Iyari Limon). TRIPLE COSTUME PW-17B: Costumes worn by "Potentials" Rona (Indigo), Vi (Felicia Day) and Amanda (Sarah Hagan).
