If 2007 Topps WWE Action was conceived 15 years earlier, it probably would have been called WWE Stadium Club. The overlooked set focuses primarily on photography, an approach that hadn’t really been done in a pro wrestling set up to that point.
The base set has 90 cards, the majority of which is basic wrestler cards. Fronts have a full-bleed design that showcases an action shot. The set’s logo and a couple of lines are done with gold foil, but it’s subtle. The end of the set has more than 20 cards dedicated to Wrestlemania 23, the year that Donald Trump was involved. The celebrity turned politician doesn’t actually appear in the set, though. Everyone else involved in the match (Umaga, Bobby Lashley and Vince McMahon) are along with the eventual shaving of McMahon’s head.
2007 Topps WWE Action is light on inserts in hobby packs — very light. Each box delivers one autograph or memorabilia card and that’s it.
The autograph list is solid. It features John Cena, CM Punk, both of the Hardy brothers, Edge and Bobby Lashley, among others. Football legend, Willie “The Refrigerator” Perry, also has a card in the product. He was one of the stars in the WWF vs. NFL Battle Royal at Wrestlemania II.
Just four different Ringside Relics memorabilia cards are in the product with Shawn Michaels and Edge being the standouts. Each has a swatch from an event-worn shirt.
Retail packs have a couple of their own inserts, Tattoos and Lenticular Motion.
