Not a lot of reality shows have gotten the trading card treatment. And for good reason. However, there have been four major releases of American Idol trading cards.
They come from three different manufacturers. Fleer covered the third and fourth seasons, Comic Images the sixth and Upper Deck took on season eight.
While all of these sets went heavy into the contestants, the most popular cards are the autographs. Few of these cards stayed relevant beyond their season’s run on TV, but there are some notable exceptions. Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert are among those who signed for the franchise over the years.
