1965 A &B C Rolling Stones trading cards capture the British band as they were hitting international superstardom. It’s a rare set today but one that should be considered today given its position as having some of the earliest cards of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and company.
1965 A&BC Rolling Stones Checklist Details
The 1965 A&BC Rolling Stones checklist consists of just 40 cards. Most feature candid shots of the band on the stage, in the studio or hanging out. It’s a mix of solo photos and group shots of varying sizes.
From a design perspective, it’s as plain as it gets. Fronts have the photo with a white frame. There’s no text or even A&BC’s logo.
Backs don’t offer much more outside of the band members’ names. The box and lack of anything else of significance looks almost identical to Topps 1964 Beatles Black and White releases.
There’s a good chance that acted as the inspiration. Topps partnered with A&BC Chewing Gum for UK trading card releases much like they did with O-Pee-Chee in Canada.
Believed to have been something of a test issue, 1965 A&BC Rolling Stones cards are tough to come by today, especially in any sort of quantity. They failed to catch on and spawn the multiple releases The Beatles received the previous year.
For those looking for a more modern trading card spin on The Rolling Stones, there’s 2025 Panini Prizm.
