2016 Cryptozoic Big Bang Theory Seasons 6 and 7 is the final set of trading cards the comedy received. While there are lots of familiar elements from past sets, the star power doesn’t reach the same heights with the autographs, which is the line’s driving force. Still, there are some tough components and notable guests that have appeal outside of the show as well.
2016 Cryptozoic Big Bang Theory Seasons 6 and 7 Checklist Details
The two seasons are summarized succinctly over a 72-card base set. For a show that revolves largely around dialogue, there’s a lot of couch sitting involved. That said, there are some quirky moments and spots that lend themselves to photos that are much more fun and interesting.
Two parallel sets compliment the main set as well as the product’s standard inserts. Silver Foil Board are on the easy side, landing 1:4 packs combined for base set versions and inserts. Printing Plates are 1:192 packs. Each individual plate is one-of-a-kind with each card having black, cyan, magenta and yellow versions. Some of the product’s hits also have plates, but without the memorabilia.
Autographs and Memorabilia Cards
Like the Seasons 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and 5 sets, autographs are the biggest chase on the checklist. While past releases were packed with the top cast members — even if they were tough pulls — here it’s not the case.
For the standard autographs, there are 32 total cards. However, there are just 16 signers as each has a horizontal and vertical card. Of those 16 signers, only Simon Helberg (Howard), Mayim Bialik (Amy) and Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) are leads. There are a couple of notable guest stars who signed, though. First is comedy legend Bob Newhart. Prior to this, the only other set he signed for was Rittenhouse’s 2012 NCIS release. Kate Micucci also has autographs. She is known for lots of roles on screen and through voice acting. Micucci is also one half of Garfunkel and Oates.
In additional to the regular autographs, Helberg, Bialik and Rauch also have autographed costume cards in 2016 Cryptozoic Big Bang Theory Seasons 6 and 7.
Autographs combine to fall 1:15 packs. This means that many boxes have two.
Rather than going with strictly costume cards, a few props are also on the checklist. As such, Cryptozoic went with Memorabilia this time around. There are 37 in all including one that came with the set’s binder. Standard Memorabilia cards are 1:15 packs, significantly better than the typical one per box in Cryptozoic products.
The checklist also has nine Dual Wardrobe cards (1:96 packs) as well as a Triple and Quad Wardrobe card, each of which has just 25 copies.
Additional Inserts
The 2016 Cryptozoic Big Bang Theory Seasons 6 and 7 checklist has three other insert sets. None are particularly tough. The Friendship Algorithm (1:3 packs) double as a nine-card puzzle. Circular Portraits (1:4 packs) highlight each of the show’s seven leads. Finally, there’s Artist Series (1:4) that uses different pieces to show the series in a different light.
All three sets have Silver Foil Board and Printing Plate parallels like the base set. Artist Series cards have Cryptomium versions (1:48 packs) as well that are done with chromium stock.
Sketch cards rank among the hardest cards to pull. Featuring high-end art from six artists, these are 1:576 packs.
