2014 Cryptozoic Pacific Rim is a lot smaller than most trading card sets. In fact, it’s a fraction of the size of what was originally intended. After numerous delays, it finally arrived in a revamped hits-only format. The result isn’t bad content. It’s just not a lot of content, either.
Packaged together in a binder, all come with the same two autographs and six memorabilia cards. A Dual Wardrobe card rounds things out for this limited release.
The autographs feature two of the bigger names on the cast list, Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman. The duo also starred together (and appeared in multiple Cryptozoic sets together) in Sons of Anarchy.
Six Wardrobe cards all have costume swatches from different actors include Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Charlie Day.
Rounding out each Pacific Rim binder set is one of four different Dual Wardrobe cards that have pieces from a pair of costumes. Because these aren’t guaranteed in each set, they’re the toughest cards in the product to come by.
When Cryptozoic first announced a set of Pacific Rim trading cards, the plan was for a traditional release complete with packs, boxes and a more comprehensive base set.
