1974 Topps Six Million Dollar Man Checklist Details
The set consists of 55 cards. It’s not groundbreaking in any way, simply offering shots from the show. Not surprisingly, it’s Colonel Steve Austin who is featured on the majority of cards. He is the titular hero, after all. That said, for an action show, there’s not a lot of it here. A few jumps, some gadgets here and there but it’s a lot of cards with similar photos from the same sequence. Even being a small set, there’s a lot of repetition.
The lack of excitement on the cards hasn’t mattered much in the years since the set came out. In fact, it may have helped things. As a test issue, 1974 Topps Six Million Dollar Man packs were never widely available. Because the set wasn’t successful at the time either, it’s likely it was pulled early.
Sometimes, something that’s unpopular is just that. When it comes to collectibles — like trading cards of classic television shows — the opposite can happen. Something that is initially shunned becomes appreciated and highly coveted. That’s what’s happened here. With not a lot of it out there, demand outstrips supply and values continue to remain strong.
