1991 Impel Star Trek 25th Anniversary takes the franchise’s trading card line to a new frontier, one with chase cards and a deep checklist covering multiple shows. It spans two series, each nearly identical in size and format. This marks the first set for the franchise from Impel, who would evolve into SkyBox within a few years.

The set covers both The Original Series and The Next Generation. In fact, this is the first set of Star Trek trading cards to cover the spinoff series — the first of many.
All told, there are 310 cards in the base set, 160 for Series 1 and another 150 in Series 2. Even covering two shows, it’s a deep dive that includes episodes, characters and more.
The design is simple with a colored border and minimal design elements on the front. TOS cards have dark blue borders while The Next Generation uses reddish brown. Backs come with extensive write-ups, highlighting the shows and beyond.
1991 Impel Star Trek 25th Anniversary brings a simple chase element as well. Each series has two Holograms, making for a full set of four.
A factory tin set has two exclusive Bonus Cards that aren’t available in packs.
1991 Impel Star Trek 25th Anniversary is a product of its time. The set itself is a strong one. However, its print run was massive and there’s still a lot of it out there. As a result, prices are still very reasonable.
