2006 Inkworks Veronica Mars Season 1 trading cards might not be based on a blockbuster show, but the checklist certainly has its share of blockbuster cards. Drawing from some big-name series stars, notable guests and even some actors who have gone on the bigger things since, this is a strong set when it comes to autographs and memorabilia cards.

The 2006 Inkworks Veronica Mars Season 1 checklist kicks off with a 72-card base set. It does a solid job of recapping the 22-episode run. Individual shows get at least two standalone cards, retelling the mystery and drama surrounding the murder of Lilly Kane. In addition to these are a handful of small thematic subsets that add some additional depth. Neptune High profiles the high school-aged characters. Family Dysfunction delves into the show’s complicated relationships. Tricks of the Trade showcases tools used by Veronica Mars, private eye — like the Internet. Pictures of Lilly and Coverup round out the subsets with a more somber tone.
Autographs, Memorabilia Cards and Other Inserts
The most valuable 2006 Inkworks Veronica Mars Season 1 trading cards are the autographs. Landing one per hobby box, 11 different signers are on the checklist. Lead star Kristen Bell leads the way. Since Veronica Mars, Bell has starred in Frozen and The Good Place, among others. It’s important to note that Bell is a redemption in the set so opening boxes and packs today won’t get you one.
Other notable signers include Amanda Seyfried. Besides playing murder victim Lilly Kane here, the actress has appeared in such films as Mean Girls, Mamma Mia! and Jennifer’s Body. Seyfried received an Oscar nomination for Mank as well.
Anthony Anderson and Napoleon Dynamite‘s Tina Majorino are also on the autographs checklist.
Pieceworks costume cards provide a second premium insert in every box. Virtually every major characters has a piece of wardrobe that has been cut up and included inside a card. Outside of the lead cast, there is a curious card here of a guest star that wasn’t in the show much — Paris Hilton. This and the base card she appears on look to be her earliest mainstream trading cards.
Other 2006 Inkworks Veronica Mars Season 1 inserts follow a familiar pattern as far as the card maker’s sets go. Who Killed Lilly Kane? is the standard nine-card puzzle. Revolving Around Mars looks at relationship dynamics between Veronica and six other characters.
