The 1997 SkyBox Disney’s Hercules trading cards are a lot like the animated movie they’re based on. Some of the elements are fun but the overall product doesn’t carry a lot of memorable substance.
The 90-card base set has a lot of variety, falling in line with SkyBox’s other Disney releases from the period. As with most entertainment sets, there’s plenty dedicated to characters and plot points. Aimed at young collectors, there are also cards to color in and pop-ups. These add an interactive layer to the product.
Four Gold Medal cards have embossed gold foil on the card front. These are certainly striking. Although, at 1:9 packs, they’re not overly rare.
Other inserts include six sticker sheets and a pair of holograms.
