2016 Cryptozoic Outlander Season 1 might be the most surprising trading card hits since Twilight nearly a decade earlier. Based on the time-travelling period romance, the checklist is highlighted by autographs and costume cards. But it’s the show’s passionate fanbase that really carried things.
2016 Cryptozoic Outlander Season 1 Checklist Details
The base set covers all 16 first season episodes that originally aired in 2014-2015. While it goes through the entirety of the arcs and developments, like a lot of other Cryptozoic sets, the checklist doesn’t have a specific number of cards per episode. Rather, it treats the season closer to a book with each card being a short chapter.
Three levels of parallels are available. Fraser Crest Foil are fairly easy at 1:3 packs combined with select insert sets. Thistle of Scotland Foil Stamp cards are nearly two per box at 1:15 packs. A testament to the product’s overall low print run, these are numbered to 50. Finally, Printing Plates are also available, landing 1:128 packs.
Autographs, Memorabilia Cards and Other Inserts
Autographs and Wardrobe Cards are both one per 2016 Cryptozoic Outlander Season 1 hobby box.
A total of 18 signers are available in packs, headlined by Sam Heughan who stars as Jamie Fraser, one of the show’s leads.
Although not officially part of the final product, another autograph is floating around the secondary market. Tim McInnerny’s cards appear to have been lost in transit after he signed them. They were purchased at an auction, likely in a bulk lot of various other items that were lost in the mail.
Wardrobe cards have pieces of costumes worn by characters. Packs have 36 different cards available with a final card that was exclusive to the set’s binder. Both Heughan and Outlander’s other lead, Caitriona Balfe, have multiple memorabilia cards.
Nine Dual Wardrobe cards are understandably more difficult to pull at 1:96 packs.
