2024 Topps Chrome Baseball Hidden Gems mark the second season of the scarce secretly stealth inserts. Like the previous year, collectors can expect the set to grow throughout the card season with a cross-brand checklist.

Similar to 2023, odds aren’t known — at least for the initial installment in 2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball. That means print runs are also a mystery. Even without a rough estimate, it’s safe to say that not a lot are out there. That’s the point. Topps Hidden Gems are meant to live up to their name and be a special find for those lucky enough to land one.

Combine that extreme rarity with the top-tier player selection of current, past and rookie stars and it’s understandable why 2024 Topps Chrome Hidden Gems carry strong values.

Past Gems

Topps didn’t introduce Hidden Gems in 2023. The surprise factor and extreme rarity are new but the inserts go back more than 25 years. The first are in 1995-96 Topps Series 1 Hockey. A couple of years later, the name resurfaced, this time in football. Both 1998 Topps and 1998 Topps Chrome Football have similar Hidden Gems inserts.

In each of these instances, the inserts are fairly common and don’t carry big price tags.

Here’s a look at known this year’s Hidden Gems. The checklist and gallery will update as new cards in other products surface.
