1994 Cardz Return of The Flintstones brings back Fred and friends for another simple set of trading cards. A followup to a 1993 set, this one dives a little deeper into a small number of episodes rather than touching base on a lot from the long-running animated sitcom.
The base set consists of 60 total cards, although there are three distinct sections. The first 42 spots on the checklist dig into six episodes, each with seven cards. This isn’t a typical format but it allows the set to make it more of a greatest hits approach.
With The Flintstones enjoying a resurgence in the early 1990s, which culminated in the 1994 live-action film, there was new TV content as well. Hollyrock-a-Bye Baby, an animated movie from 1993 that has Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm all grown up and starting a family of their own, has a seven-card subset of its own.
Rounding out the set is a checklist and ten Stand-Up cards. In other releases, these are often inserts. Instead, they’re base cards for this set.
1994 Cardz Return of The Flinstones does have a three-card TekChrome chase set. Done on foil, these land 1:18 packs.
