1993 Eclipse James Bond Series 1 trading cards bring the world’s most famous into the modern hobby. The anthology-style release combines four early films and even adds a couple of inserts for good measure. It’s not exactly the autograph and chase-heavy checklist the franchise would inspire just a few years later but it’s a start.

The base set totals 110 cards and covers Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball. They’re largely based around plot points and characters, however, there are some that pull the curtain back and go behind the scenes.
Fronts have thick gold borders to go with the image and a simple caption. Despite these elements, there’s not a lot of elegance to it and the appearance is somewhat dated now.
Backs offer up lots of information, highlighted by a lengthy write-up. To this end, these are some of the most comprehensive James Bond trading cards ever produced. Even with that, there’s still room for a smaller second image and brief descriptions of both the front and back images.
Two Holograms are the lone chase cards, one of iconic villain Oddjob and the other of Bond’s Auston Martin.
Given how far James Bond trading cards have come, this simple set is largely overlooked today. That’s not to say that it’s bad. It’s just not a set a lot of Bond collectors talk about, at least in part because they’ve probably long since completed their sets. Prices are stable with boxes and holograms commanding the strongest values.
