In name, 1992 Comic Images Ghost Rider II is the sequel to the character’s standalone 1990 release. In reality, the two have little in common beyond the theme. This time around, the card maker digs into Ghost Rider beyond just comic art — although there’s still plenty of that as well.
1992 Comic Images Ghost Rider II Checklist Details
Consisting of 80 cards, this is still an art-driven release. Fronts are simple with a black border and artwork. All is taken directly from Marvel comic books so for Ghost Rider fans, some of it may feel familiar albeit in a different format. Fronts have no additional logos or text.
On the back, there’s a write-up that adds either information of the characters featured on the card or bits of story. It’s not wildly in-depth but it’s certainly more informative than the previous set that used only puzzle pieces for the reverse.
The 1992 Comic Images Ghost Rider II checklist adds some inserts in the form of ten Glow in the Dark cards. Landing one per pack, they’re not difficult to pull but the striking imagery combined with the subject matter make them a standout among early ’90s comic cards.
This set isn’t an overly challenging or expensive one to find today. While Ghost Rider is still popular, the character has definitely seen some peaks and valleys in the decades since, which has also likely contributed to the somewhat tepid response the set receives today.
