1998 Topps Xena: Warrior Princess trading cards mark the first set for the beloved Lucy Lawless show. A spinoff of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, the series would spawn more than a dozen products between Topps and Rittenhouse Archives. This is one of the most basic.
The 72-card base set delves a little deeper than just the episodes. While plot recaps are one of the biggest portions, there are also character cards, behind-the-scenes cards, art cards and more.
Inserted 1:12 packs, Foil cards are the easiest inserts. These highlight six key characters.
Borrowing from the popular sports brand, each box has one of two chromium Finest inserts. These also have tougher Refractor parallels that were inserted as case loaders. Refractors have a rainbow finish.
Finally, there’s a Bonus Foil card that was given to dealers as an extra incentive for ordering boxes and cases.
