2009 Upper Deck American Idol Season 8 marks the last time the landmark reality program got a set of trading cards. It’s also the third time a company took on the license trying to make it work.

The main checklist comes with a tiered structure. The 30-card base set isn’t much of a challenge to put together.
A total of 31 Contest cards carry the numbering on. Many of these feature past contestants and winners. Contest cards are included one per pack so, again, not tough in the grand scheme of things.
Things get more challenging with the 36 Makeover Lenticular cards. Landing 1:8 packs, they offer a before-and-after look at the finalists. While they have the feel and rarity of insert cards, the lenticular cards are still numbered to the main set.
2009 Upper Deck American Idol Season 8 trading cards feature the largest autograph lineup the show ever saw. A total of 43 cards are available including Adam Lambert and Season 8 winner, Kris Allen. Autographs are found two per hobby box.
