2009 Breygent Ghost Whisperer Seasons 1 and 2 trading cards came out of the ashes of Inkworks going out of business. It was slated to be their next set before they went under, even releasing some promo cards to ramp up interest in the release. But it wasn’t meant to be and Breygent worked fast to not only scoop up the license, but apparently much of the assets as well.
After a handful of character cards are the front of the checklist, much of the 72-card base set cuts into episodic recaps. With two seasons to cover, it gets right to the key moments.
2009 Breygent Ghost Whisperer Seasons 1 and 2 Autographs and Inserts
Autographs land every other box. Jennifer Love Hewitt is the focal point of the set, although several other members of the main cast are included as well. Most of the signatures come on foil stickers from Inkworks, although a couple from producers at the end of the release do not.
Costume cards are inserted two per box. Sixteen of the 20 available in packs feature wardrobe pieces worn by Hewitt. Three cards have two swatches.
The premium inserts are rounded out by three Autographed Costume cards.
Because the product largely used Inkworks assets, the basic inserts have a familiar feel to those used to their products. Kindred Spirits is the nine-card foil puzzle. Signs is another foil set, this time with six cards. Then there’s Crossing Over, which has three cards — a number similar to Inkworks’ box loader format. However, Breygent also included nine Trivia cards as well.
2009 Breygent Ghost Whisperer Seasons 1 and 2 has a handful of case cards as well. The case loader is done in the style of a business card for Melinda, Hewitt’s character. Those ordering three cases received a Dual Costume card of Hewitt. She was paired with David Conrad for a Dual Autograph six-case incentive. Finally, a Triple Autograph with Hewitt, Conrad and Camryn Manheim was available to those purchasing ten cases. All three of the multi-case incentives came graded by BGS.
