2005 Inkworks LOST Season 1 trading cards was the first for the show. It is also Inkworks’ best. Although it has a lot of gaps, it has the only autographs of a couple of the show’s biggest stars.
Releasing when the show was still very much a hot property. Not surprisingly, the set was too.
The base set, which has 90 cards, has the standard plot synopses. But because characters are so numerous and integral to the fabric of LOST, they get an almost equal portion of the checklist.
Autographs fall one per box. Top signers include Evangeline Lilly (Kate), Josh Holloway (Sawyer) and Maggie Grace (Shannon). This is the only time any of them signed for a set of LOST trading cards, including when Rittenhouse took over the license following Inkworks’ demise. While they are the top signers in the set, the trio are also the only redemptions.
Joining the autographs are Pieceworks costume cards, which are also inserted one per box. These offer premium cards of many of the characters left off the autograph list like Jack and Hurley.
Lilly, Holloway and Grace are also featured on Autographed Pieceworks cards, which are also redemptions.
2005 Inkworks LOST Season 1 packs also have two additional insert sets. Both are standard to many of the card maker’s products. First is a nine-card foil puzzle titled Missing: Oceanic 815. Numbers is a six-card set highlighted by laser-cut shapes that correspond with Hurley’s lottery ticket.
