2025 Panini Absolute Football Kaboom inserts feature the most ever in the set’s seven-year NFL run. Expanding on the Vertical and Horizontal versions of recent years, another spinoff has been added. For the first time since Kaboom debuted in a football release, a new parallel joins the checklist as well.
Despite the growing number of options, 2025 Panini Absolute Football Kaboom remains one of the year’s top chase sets, both in popularity and value.
2025 Panini Absolute Football Kaboom Checklist Details
In total, not including parallels, there are 100 different Kaboom cards on the 2025 Panini Absolute Football checklist. That’s way up from 57 in 2024 Absolute. The overall list is a broad mix of veteran superstars, top rookies and retired legends.
Kaboom is split into four sections, each numbered separately:
- Vertical
- Horizontal
- Super Bowl Vertical
- Super Bowl Horizontal
The standard Vertical and Horizontal versions have been in play for a while. They account for 80 cards combined.
The remaining 20 fall under the Super Bowl banner. That said, there’s not a huge different. These versions have an additional Super Bowl logo connecting them to the featured player.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this is that there’s very little overlap in the players between sections. Well over 90 different football players have Kabooms in 2025.
As for the cards themselves, the overall concept remains the same. Players are portrayed as illustrations and look like they out of a comic book. The explosive foil background pattern only adds to the over-the-top nature of the popular inserts.
Odds have not been released for the cards, although they’re often referred to as case hits. Standard Horizontal versions are the most widely available. Many Vertical and Super Bowl Kabooms are extremely tough to find, something that isn’t helped much by the massive checklist.
In addition to standard versions, there are two levels of numbered parallels, Gold (#’ed/10) and Green (1/1). New this year are tough Purple parallels. The are exclusive to Absolute’s 1st Off the Line boxes that were sold on the Panini websute.
