The 2025 Topps Chrome Marvel Comic Book Heroes 1975 Golden Anniversary checklist puts a very modern spin on a classic set. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Topps’ first foray into the world of Marvel trading cards. The original set’s stickers have been replaced by Chrome and its many colors.

The inspiration for the 2025 Topps Chrome Marvel Comic Book Heroes checklist comes from a different era of comic books. While today’s stories and characters are focused largely on action, 1975 Topps Marvel Comic Book Heroes leans into comedy. Each card has a different character who is cracking a joke. Whether it’s Spider-Man, Doctor Doom or The Son of Satan, it’s dad joke-level groaners at every turn. Looking back, it’s goofy and fun.
But that’s definitely not what’s happening here.
The 1975 design in brought back here as a launching pad for a 150-card set. The checklist is divided into a few different sections, this time looking at comic eras. It starts with 1975 and some throwback art. From there, the homage shifts to the 1976 follow-up set, which was basically the same idea with stickers and gags.
Following these, the base set moves into subsets using 2000s and 2025-style art and characters.
The 2025 Topps Chrome Marvel Comic Book Heroes checklist doesn’t have a lot of separate outside inserts, but it leans into the gold theme for a lot of parallels. All 150 base cards have a dozen parallels:
