1995 Wildstorm Gen 13 trading cards chart one of the hottest comic books of the era that didn’t have a Marvel or DC imprint. Showcasing the artwork of J. Scott Campbell and lots of guest artists, the set digs into the comic from several angles.
1995 Wildstorm Gen 13 Checklist Details
The base set has 107 cards, all done on shing chromium stock. This gives the release something of an upscale look and feel right off the bat.
The checklist breaks down into several thematic subset, including Heroes, Villains, Gen 13 History, Swimsuits and Battle Cards. There’s also a section that creates a mini comic story. All of these subsets are designed perfectly for nine-pocket pages.
In addition to the base set, 1995 Wildstorm Gen 13 has two insert sets. Nine Glow in the Dark (1:8 packs) keep the chromium and add the additional layer of ink to help prevent them from getting lost when the power goes out.
Gen-Active also has nine cards, although they’re a little easier to pull at 1:6 packs. These are lenticular and flip between two images to create a simple action effect.
Today, Gen 13 seems to be somewhat forgotten. And if it’s not, then it’s definitely a product of ’90s comics. That gives 1995 Wildstorm Gen 13 a level of nostalgia to it.
