2014 Rittenhouse Marvel Dangerous Divas Series 2 revisits the bad girls theme of the 2011 original. Although the theme and some of the checklist’s elements carry over from the earlier release, there’s also a significant amount of new content as well.
2014 Rittenhouse Marvel Dangerous Divas Series 2 Checklist Details
The 90-card base set has different characters from across the Marvel Universe. But there is a theme. It’s all females who are either villains or spent time on the dark side. The approach isn’t the same as the first Dangerous Divas set, which showcased only 30 characters with each getting three cards. Here, every card has someone different.
If you’re looking for detailed character information, you’re going to have to look elsewhere. Backs double as puzzle pieces that go together to form nine-card images.
Packs have two levels of numbered parallels. Emerald, which have 100 copies each, are one per box. Diamond parallels are case hits and come with print runs of just 10. A third parallel, Ruby, are exclusive to Archive Boxes. These have 50 copies each.
The Inserts of 2014 Rittenhouse Marvel Dangerous Divas Series 2
Every box of 2014 Rittenhouse Marvel Dangerous Divas Series 2 includes a sketch card. However, they’re not just straight sketches. Like a lot of Rittenhouse releases, each promises to be done in color, giving the art an elevated feel. More than 125 artists contributed to this part of the checklist.
Archive Cuts are a new addition. These have panels cut from original comic books that are embedded into the card. These have varying print runs but combine to land 1:96 packs, or about every fourth box.
A couple of the more common insert sets in 2014 Marvel Dangerous Divas Series 2 put the spotlight on specific artists. Marvel Originals Artifex (1:24 packs) are all done by Rhiannon Owens. Autographed copies of all nine cards fall approximately one per case. Nine Art of Milo Marara inserts are one per box.
Sultry Seductresses kicked off in the 2011 Dangerous Divas set. The set gets an additional ten cards including one that’s exclusive to the Rittenhouse Rewards program. Not available in packs, collectors had to save and redeem points found on Rittenhouse wrappers to get the special card. The other nine cards have 1:24 pack odds.
Another continuing set is Embrace. While they were in packs in the original set, for Series 2 they’re a set of case toppers.
Finally, there’s a 25-card installment of Marvel 75th Anniversary. This is one of three parts spread across Rittenhouse Marvel products. Each of these inserts is appropriately numbered to 75.
Like the first set, 2014 Rittenhouse Marvel Dangerous Divas Series 2 has remained extremely popular. Virtually every part of the checklist commands strong prices today. This also carries over to unopened boxes, which have become scarce on the secondary market.
