1991 Comic Images Wolverine From Then Til Now is the second set of trading cards dedicated to Logan and his exploits. While not the largest or most in-depth release, it is a somewhat elusive set — particularly when you consider when it was released.
The checklist has just 45 cards plus a header. There are no additional inserts. Fronts have gritty images of the legendary mutant and the various characters, good and evil, that he’d encountered up until that point. The look has a very similar feel to Comic Images’ 1988 Wolverine release.
Backs keep things simple. Instead of actually telling the story “from then ’til now,” they’re puzzle pieces. There’s no additional information.
Besides the popularity of the namesake character, the big draw of 1991 Comic Images Wolverine From Then Til Now is its availability. Rather, it’s the lack of availability. This is not an easy release to track down today in any form. As a result, values remain strong.
Comic Images released a follow-up set in 1992.
