2003 Comic Images 24 Seasons 1 and 2 trading cards are one of those products where it feels like we’re just supposed to be happy cards for the show exist. The setup and inserts are both simple. And while autographs and costume cards are both part of the mix, it’s tough not to notice how both are lacking in certain regards.
The 90-card base set is simple. There are plenty of character cards followed by single-card breakdowns for each episode is the show’s first two seasons. The checklist closes out with a handful of behind-the-scenes cards. The design is full-bleed with an image and the show’s logo on the front, which only further adds to the product’s basic nature.
Autographs are inserted at a rate of one per box. Of the seven cards included, only three are from actors. And while all three (Xander Berkley, Carlos Bernard and Penny Johnson Gerald) all have key roles, they don’t have the same star power as a Kiefer Sutherland, Dennis Hopper or Elisha Cuthbert.
All three are included on the Memorabilia Card checklist though. Like autographs, these are also inserted one per box. What’s odd about these cards is that the swatches are part of the card backs, not fronts. This makes display a little trickier.
Six foil cards are the only other inserts in 2003 Comic Images 24 Seasons 1 and 2.
