2024 Topps Dune Release Day is the first set of trading cards for the Denis Villeneuve films since Fanatics’ zerocool announced they’d secured the rights. It’s not a big set and there’s not a lot of it, but it’s a start.
Consisting of just 10 cards, it’s limited by design. Just 500 boxes were made, each containing just four cards. Three are base cards numbered to 150. There’s also a parallel that has no more than 20 copies. Colors include:
- Orange Foil – #’ed/20
- Blue Foil – #’ed/15
- Red Foil – #’ed/10
- Purple Foil – #’ed/5
- Gold Foil – 1/1
Each card on the checklist focuses on a different character. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Christopher Walken are among the stars in the set.
The release coincided with the premiere of Dune: Part Two. Boxes sold out almost instantly on the Topps website at a cost of $50.
While zerocool was originally announced as the licensee for the franchise and the released a lenticular promo card at the 2022 National Sports Collectors Convention, these cards have Topps marks. Both zerocool and Topps are Fanatics companies.
A more comprehensive Topps Chrome Dune set is on the way later in 2024.
