2018 Topps Stranger Things: Stranger Kids combines the Netflix show that’s set in the 1980s with an ’80s trading card icon, Garbage Pail Kids. Not a full release, it’s a mini set done in conjunction with the 2018 New York Comic Con. While the main set was available to the general public through the Topps website, the convention did have some exclusives that are now extremely tough to find.
2018 Topps Stranger Things: Stranger Kids Checklist Details
The idea behind Stranger Kids is that it imagines Stranger Things characters as though they were Garbage Pail Kids. The full base set has 40 cards, although it was sold as separate 20-card A and B name variation sets.
Each individual 20-card set originally cost $19.99. Offered initially at NYCC, a short time later they were listed on the Topps website. Rather than the typical sales window of a week, these got 90 days.
Those who bought both the A and B sets at the convention itself received an exclusive bonus card that wasn’t offered to online orders. While there were only supposed to be four exclusives, a very small number of #2 Double DUFFER were accidentally given out.
