1997 Inkworks Tomorrow Never Dies trading cards delve into the second James Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan. Not an overly complex release, it still offers some depth into the movie and its stars. Just don’t expect any major elements like autographs, which were still an emerging part of entertainment trading cards at the time.

This is the first set of James Bond trading cards based on a single film under the Inkworks banner. That said, the company did make the GoldenEye set under their previous name, Graffiti. Inkworks also did other anthology-driven Bond sets including the three-volume 1996-97 Connoisseur’s Collection.

1997 Inkworks Tomorrow Never Dies Checklist Details

The base set has a 90-card checklist. The first 72 cards offer a recap of the movie using full-bleed fronts and descriptive backs. A pair of subsets at the end of the set flesh things out a little more. Nine Bond Behind the Scenes cards show things from the making of the movie, including some casual shots. Character cards use a newspaper-inspired design to highlight the movies heroes and villains.

Three insert sets are available in packs.

Four Women of Bond cards (1:24 packs) use the same etched foil design as those found in Connoisseur’s Collection. However, instead of sharing similar numbering and acting as an expansion of sorts, these four stand on their own.

Paris Carver, the character played by Teri Hatcher, is featured on a nine-card Embossed Foil Puzzle (1:11 packs). Rather than a photo, the image is a painting by the legendary Joe Jusko.

Finally, there’s Bond Dressed to Kill, a single-card set that carries long 1:108 pack odds.
