1994 Cornerstone Akira trading cards look at one of the most popular and influential anime films of all-time. There’s not a lot going on with the checklist but there also isn’t a lot of other options for fans of the movie.
1994 Cornerstone Akira Checklist Details
Consisting of 100 cards, the base set makes up the bulk of the release. The majority of this is dedicated to retelling the story. Fronts are full-bleed with animation stills. The only added element is the movie’s logo. Backs recap the action, including some character quotes.
Besides three checklists that go together to form a panoramic mini-puzzle, there are a couple of other small subsets. Three Neo Tokyo cards focus on the movie’s cyber punk setting. Backs offer a glimpse at the production process with storyboards. Character profiles round out the set.
The 1994 Cornerstone Akira checklist has a pair of additional insert sets. Three Otomo Katsuhiro Chromium cards combine to land 1:18 packs (two per box). There’s also an extremely scarce Prism card that’s 1:216 packs.
Prior to the release of the full set, Cornerstone did a small ten-card Preview set. Among the cards here was a separate Prism.
