2008 Inkworks Supernatural Season 3 trading cards marks the final full release the card maker did for the show. It follows much the same pattern as the earlier seasonal sets as far as overall configuration goes. That said, the combination of less star power and a big change to the autographs don’t bring it to quite the same level as the first two season-based sets.
The base set has 81 cards. The majority of it is episode recaps although the final third of the checklist is broken down into character-focused subsets.
Autographs are once again one per box. And while Jared Padalecki (Sam) is on the main list, Jensen Ackles (Dean) is not. That said, the two are paired on a rare dual autograph card that was given as a ten-case dealer incentive.
Not a lot of the other autograph signers stand out too much. There is Lauren Cohan of Walking Dead fame.
The other issue some may have with the autographs is the fact that they’re on stickers. And not just any stickers. While they weren’t around for long, Inkworks used big, bright foil stickers that don’t integrate into the overall card design well.
Pieceworks costume cards return as box hits. A total of 13 different cards are available in packs including two that go together to form a puzzle of sorts. Two additional costume cards were available as multi-case incentives.
2008 Inkworks Supernatural Season 3 has three other inserts that can be found in packs. Hell on Earth is a nine-card puzzle. Betrayed has six cards, each with a die-cut design. Finally, there’s three Out of Time cards.
