1984 FTCC Star Trek III: The Search for Spock Checklist, Trading Cards Info

1984 FTCC Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is one of the franchise’s more overlooked trading card releases. Given the era that it comes from, it’s understandably simple by today’s standards but that’s not always a bad thing.

1984 FTCC Star Trek III: The Search for Spock Checklist Details

The 60-card base set highlights both the characters and story of the second Star Trek cinematic sequel. The design keeps things simple with a white border giving way to a movie still. There are no captions on the front.

Backs keep with the largely minimalist theme. While there’s a border, there’s not a lot to it. The movie title art is at the top with the card number sitting in a circle along the bottom. Text consists on a small sentence, often the length of the typical card caption.

While Topps had their sticker per pack as inserts in the ’80s, 1984 FTCC Star Trek III: The Search for Spock has a separate Ships set. Landing one per pack, there are 20 in the set. The design is the same on these, front and back. So much so that it’s possible some could mistakenly mix these in with the first 20 base cards.

This is not an overly hard set to find today. While sets and boxes carry some value, it’s not typically large amounts.
