1996 Fleer/SkyBox Marvel Vision looks a lot like a standard comic set. However, it actually revolves around the block of animated shows that were on at the time. To that extent, think of it more as ‘vision in the TV sense than visionary. It’s a fairly simple set that doesn’t offer much in the way of chase elements. Rather, it seems to have been more intended for younger fans with cross over between multiple media formats. You’ve got the cards themselves, the television theme and then there are one-per-pack Mini-Magazines that offer more information and visuals.
1996 Fleer/SkyBox Marvel Vision Checklist Details
Spanning 100 cards, the base set includes cards based on the X-Men, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and Iron Man cartoons. Most are character-based, but each show also has a handful of cards showcasing some major battles.
There’s a heavy CG look to the art. That said, backgrounds are somewhat minimal so it wouldn’t be a big stretch to think this was more of a standard Marvel Comics set versus being TV-based.
1996 Fleer/SkyBox Marvel Vision does come with a gimmick beyond its theme. All base cards are embossed, given them some added texture.
Card backs come with a trivia question. To get the answer, you need to place the Encryptalyzer decoder over top of it. These land 1:6 packs.
Tattoos are 1:3 packs. These are the same ones found in 1997 Fleer/SkyBox X-Men .99.
Rounding out the 1996 Fleer/SkyBox Marvel Vision checklist are four fold-out Mini-Magazines, one for each show, that land one per pack.
